Hats Off to Mary!
Three daughters of "Mary", a much-loved 80 year old
resident of Rossmoor, came from across the country to plan a wonderful
celebration with our floral assistance. They brought in colorful hat
boxes, wonderful "Southern" hats, and multicolored paper mache boots
and shoes, asking us to integrate the props into the floral design.

We opted to paint the shoes and boots gold and black, and left the original
color of the hat boxes. Clever foam and water inserts allowed the use of
beautiful equadorian roses, iris, daisies, lissianthus, alstromeria and assorted
evergreens. We augmented the design with faux pearls and black and
gold shiny tulle. "Hats off to Mary" and "We kick up our Heels for Mary"
placards completed the finished look.
